ANCL at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology
We are located at the University of Hawai'i
Manoa Campus on the main island of Oahu. With a population of just under
a million,
Oahu is a busy metropolis that feels like
a small town.
As of July 5, 2005, the Advanced Network Computing Laboratory® became
part of the
School of Ocean and Earth Science and
Technology (SOEST) and as such is part of one of the largest
research units at the University of Hawaii with close ties to many government
agencies.

ANCL and InfoWorld

As a contract testing lab of the InfoWorld Media Group, ANCL plays host to
a large number of "Shootouts" where large scale enterprise
simulations allow the magazine editors to evaluate emerging enterprise products
in the proverbial level playing field.
ANCL works hard to design these simulations so that no single vendor has an
unfair advantage. Simulations are designed using sound scientific methodologies to make these tests both repeatable and
as much as possible based upon existing published standards with traffic patterns modeled after real world
statistics from ANCL partners.
